Resorts Host Festivities To Honor The Year Of The Rabbit

Las Vegas hops into the Chinese New Year this February with a stunning showcase of meaningful décor, traditional Chinese cuisine and activities to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit. Beginning Jan. 7, Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens will celebrate the holiday with a unique floral and botanical display guided by the ancient practice of Feng Shui. The centerpiece of the exhibit will feature a 35-foot Chinese Junk Boat inspired by traditional 15th century fishing vessels, surrounded by a zigzag bridge leading to a striking, wing-tipped Ming Dynasty-styled gazebo. The exhibit will also feature a 12-foot rabbit with a luxurious coat made of live plants. The exhibit is on display through March 5.

At the atrium gardens in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, a 16-foot, 1,000-pound animated rabbit surrounded by handcrafted silk hanging lanterns and orange trees representing good luck and fortune will be on display. Decorations will follow the customary color scheme of red and gold, and include presentations of fresh bamboo, traditional Chinese lanterns and I-Ching coins representing an abundance of wealth. Crystals at CityCenter celebrates the Year of the Rabbit with a golden display of a graceful rabbit weighing 1,200 pounds, reaching more than 11-feet-tall and stretching 12-feet-long. The elegant exhibit is situated in the midst of Crystals' beautiful flower carpet and will be on display through March 7. Festive decorations representing fortune and prosperity will also be featured at a number of other properties throughout Las Vegas.

Actress Regina King was spotted at Eva Longoria's Beso steakhouse and Eve Nightclub in Crystals at CityCenter on Saturday night. Celebrating her 40th birthday with friends, King and her party ate dinner at Beso and headed upstairs to Eve for drinking and dancing. Regina and her group partied in Eve's VIP section sipping on Grey Goose cocktails and dancing for several hours before leaving the nightclub at 2:30 a.m.

Cast of TEN YEAR at their wrap party at TAO Nightclub

Saturday night the cast and crew from the new film TEN YEAR held their wrap party at TAO Nightclub. The movie, about a group of friends who reunite 10 years after their high school graduation, just finished filming.

A number of actors from the movie took part in the celebration, including Channing Tatum, Justin Long, Anthony Mackie, Scott Porter, Brian Geraghty, Kelly Noonan, Aaron Yoo, Ari Graynor, Eiko Nijo, Oscar Isaac, Frantz Durand and Keith Kurtz.

Channing Tatum arrived with his wife Jenna Dewan, and actress Krysten Ritter joined boyfriend Brian Geraghty for the event. The group sat down to dinner of signature dishes at TAO Asian Bistro and after dinner went out of their way to thank the staff and the chefs before heading up to the nightclub to continue the party.

There, they commanded several tables on the dance floor, taking in the sounds of DJ Vice. Channing and Jenna showed off their impressive dance moves, no surprise since they co-starred in the film Step Up, and even Anthony Mackie had his own dance off with a TAO Nightclub cocktail waitress. The group of thirty, who flew in from all over the country, was surprised with a graduation themed cake congratulating them on the completion of TEN YEAR.

The highly anticipated return of moe. to Las Vegas was presented at Hard Rock Cafe by The Las Vegas Jamband Society. The band performed two long sets of highly energetic, improvisational jam music as the whole room danced late into the night.

Slash hosts an After Concert party at TAO Nightclub

Friday night Slash hosted his after concert party at TAO Nightclub. After opening for Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, his wife Perla and a large group of friends gathered for a dinner of signature dishes at the Asian Bistro, including the rocker’s favorite, General Tso’s Chicken.

On the red carpet he shared that he loves coming to Vegas because it is so close to Southern California and he has so much fun here. He said he has some projects coming up for his movie production company, Slasher Films, but said there are no plans for him to get in front of the camera as he is only going to produce.

Slash and the group, including Laura Croft from Holly’s World, arrived upstairs in the club to great fanfare, taking over several tables on the dance floor as fans crowded to get pictures. He joined DJ Ross One in the DJ booth, announcing to the crowd that he was going to play make shift DJ and, “and interrupt your regular programming for an hour or so.” Slash started off his set with Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Crazy Train, setting the stage for the perfect night. After getting the party started, Slash returned to his table to watch the crowd enjoy his specially selected play list.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas children checked out World Series Champion San Francisco Giants pitcher Sergio Romo's beard today to see if it's real. He is known for his unique beard and the term 'Fear The Beard' became widespread during the World Series last November when San Francisco won the title.

The kids all posed with fake beards when taking a photo with Sergio as well.

Sergio Romo visited with the children in 'The Lounge' at The Palms Casino Resort today where the kids were treated to Hots dogs, Popcorn and Cotton Candy. There was also a one on one meet-n-greet with the champion, who gave them each a signed baseball to take home.

Donyell Brown - Winner of TAO A Go Go at TAO Nightclub

After an impressive performance at TAO a Go Go inside TAO Nightclub over at the Venetian, Donyell Brown took home the $10,000 grand prize, and sipped a Hpnotiq Bubbles and Blue cocktail to celebrate. A six year Vegas resident, the bartender has only entered three go go contests previously. She plans to use her winnings for season tickets to her hometown Arizona Cardinals and take a cruise.

Over at the Venetian, Carmen Electra hosted TAO Nightclub’s fifth annual TAO a Go Go contest with Hpnotiq on Thursday night. Nearly 40 women competed for the $10,000 prize. The field was narrowed down to four finalists and as the contestants practiced their moves, Carmen took in the scene from an elevated sky box in the VIP moat overlooking the packed club.

When the time came for the dance off to choose the winner, Carmen made her way to the catwalk to help serve as MC.

The Mechanic movie Premiere was held at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, NV on January 26, 2011.

Jason Statham arrived at Planet Hollywood driving a classic 1970 Jaguar accompanied by Actor Jason Flemyng (Clash of The Titans and Snatch). Also at the premiere were Randy Couture and his son Ryan, Nathan Burton, and Joey Fatone.

I was able to actually watch the movie at the premiere and it's a great film. LOTS of action and some funny moments as well. With some action films, they tend to be predictable, but I didn't think The Mechanic was predictable at all. From the different angles that were taken, why Arthur (Jason Statham) chose the location where he lived, the way people were killed, to even the ending, it was a non-stop ride. It's best to see it in the theater as opposed to waiting.

Last night marked the launch of the Casa Fuente Spirits Society inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Glenfiddich Global Ambassador Mitch Bechard was on hand to present the only bottle of Glenfiddich 50 Year in Las Vegas to Casa Fuente which is one of only six available in the United States this year.

In its second year of release only 50 bottles of Glenfiddich 50 are made per year (only 100 exist in the world) and only ten bottles currently exist in the United States. One bottle recently sold at auction for $38,000.00.
