Experience Savile Row @ Luxor Las Vegas

My Visit to Savile Row Inside Luxor Hotel

Photo of Mike Diamond, the Gatekeeper

Last night, I had the pleasure of checking out the almost open Savile Row inside the Luxor Las Vegas. My good friend James Foster of Whispering Giants invited me down to see the new space, formerly Noir Bar. I hadn't taken the time to visit Noir Bar when it was open, so I made sure to visit Savile Row, since given the opportunity. Many of you have asked what the venue was like, so I've done my best below to describe my experience. Welcome to Savile Row.

The first AND foremost attribute that impressed me about Savile Row was the level of service. I can honestly say that I haven't been in ANY venue in Las Vegas with the quality of service my date Katherine and I were provided last night. Everything from the doormen's overwhelmingly welcoming approach (simple things like a smile and thank you for coming go a long way), to the way the staff never let your empty glass stay on your table for longer than a minute, it was all exceptional service. In most clubs, you feel like a number, someone there to help their bottom line. Which is understandable, as they are a business. At Savile Row, you feel as though they want you there, because they understand what it is that you bring to their atmosphere, which is more important to them then how much money they'll make at the end of the night. One of the quotes I heard another patron say is, "Savile Row is selling the sizzle, not the steak." I couldn't agree more.

Now, if impeccable service isn't enough for you, don't worry, there's more. From the moment you get within 100 feet of Savile Row, you know you're in for something special. Within a 60 second walk to the front door of Savile Row, which is on the outside of Luxor Las Vegas, is the valet parking at The Shoppes inside Mandalay Place. This is the easiest and most convenient parking option for those visiting the club. Most nightclubs in Vegas, whether you valet or self park, are still a long hike just to the entrance club, that is not the case with Savile Row. Locals and tourists alike will enjoy not bumping into casino patrons, getting stuck behind the family with a stroller, or just being inundated with the sounds, sights, and smells of most casinos, when visiting Savile Row.

It should be noted that it is a MUST that you come in fashionable attire. This is not the environment where you just throw on anything. Thought and preparation into what you're going to be seen in at Savile Row is imperative. This goes for guys as well as girls. This venue takes this so seriously, that you may not make it past the front door if what you're wearing doesn't fit the vibe their party is looking for. Fashionable doesn't mean a three piece suit either. It means that what you've decided to cloth yourself in makes you a trend setter. What that means to you and what that means to Savile Row, may or may not be the same thing. Yes, I'm sure that statement makes some of you cringe and a lot of you nervous, but that is preciously what makes Savile Row very special. Speaking of fashionable attire, you'll want to make sure you introduce yourself and get to know Mike Diamond. Just a tip, make sure you know WHO Mike is and WHAT he looks like. Going to the rope, telling Mike that you're looking for Mike Diamond probably won't get you very far.

Well, now that you've made it inside Savile Row, what should you expect. You'll find one of the most intimate venues on the Las Vegas Strip. You start your journey into the club down an winding brick walled hallway, which opens up to a rotunda. This room has textured walls and ceilings with a dome above it, housing a large chandelier. Around the rotunda is seating and tables to enjoy your libations. Directly under the chandelier, you'll find a myriad of burning candles, which adds to the vibe of the room as you watch them melt throughout the evening.

As you pass through the rotunda, you'll enter the main room. To the left you'll find the bar (similar to what's pictured above), down the center is intimate seating, and on the right you'll find tables to accommodate large groups. In the far right corner you'll find the DJ, who was spinning some great music last night. The mix was just that, a mix. The music wasn't skewed to one direction or another. It had something for everyone to enjoy. One great aspect about the music at Savile Row was how comfortably loud the music was. I could be three feet away from anyone I was talking to and still have a conversation. Most clubs you have to speak directly in someones ear in order for them to hear you. This simple detail of turning down the volume will help set apart Savile Row from other venues, as it allows for great conversations and networking. There aren't many clubs that can keep my attention for almost four hours; Savile Row kept my attention and made me want to come back for more.

In short, Savile Row is a breath of fresh air to me. I think what it offers is much needed in the Las Vegas nightlife scene. Some might disregard the club, saying that it's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole when it comes to the "norm" of Las Vegas nightlife of practiacally letting anyone with money into your club. My response to that is, didn't people tell Steve Wynn that his concept wouldn't work because of the 99 cent shrimp cocktail crowd that came to Las Vegas before he opened the Mirage. Since the city of Las Vegas has proven it can go from being a place that offered up low end nightclubs like The Beach and Bikini's, to offering up some of the most extravagant nightclubs Las Vegas has seen, like Surrender Nightclub and MARQUEE Nightclub & Dayclub, I'm sure that Savile Row will fit in quite nicely.

Top 10 Las Vegas: Celebrity Hangouts

The Top 10 Las Vegas Celebrity Hangouts

Las Vegas is known for quite a few things; bright neon lights, ample casinos, and incredible nightlife and entertainment are just a few examples. But in recent years, Las Vegas has become increasingly popular for one more thing: celebrities. Stars from the world over consider Sin City to be their playground, a place where they can burn their fortunes, relax and party in opulence, and go back to home or work the next day in Los Angeles with a minimum amount of traveling.

Since the city is such a celebrity magnet, regular Joes and Janes have one more reason to love Las Vegas. But where do you go to find stars? Follow our trail of luxury, hot music, and great food, and you’ll be seeing stars in no time.

LAX Nightclub at the Luxor is one fail-safe when it comes to seeing stars in Vegas. LAX Nightclub a popular watering hole for the musicians and their famous friends. Incidentally, LAX Nightclub is where Paris Hilton broke the news about Christina Aguilera’s pregnancy. It’s also a favorite nightspot for illusionist Criss Angel and the cast of MTV’s reality show The Hills.

Another popular nighttime retreat for the rich and famous is TAO Nightclub. Under the eye of Buddha, celebrities dance, dine, and drink along with regular folk. They also love to throw special occasions here; Marc Anthony celebrated his 38th birthday here, and actress Kate Walsh spent her bachelorette party dancing on the tables of TAO Nightclub. Stars can also be spotted relaxing on the roof at TAO Beach or dining on the Asian fare in TAO Las Vegas’s restaurant.

And speaking of restaurants, celebrities love Las Vegas’ exquisite restaurants. N9NE Steakhouse is one particular favorite, featuring giant seafood platters and sweet smore desserts. There’s no VIP section here, so you’ll really be able to spot the stars. Hugh Hefner celebrated his 80th birthday here, and even President Barack Obama has enjoyed N9NE’s diverse menu including sirloins and sashimi.

Though all these spots would be worth going to even if they weren’t constantly visited by Hollywood elite, the chance to see some of your favorite stars definitely makes them must-see stops.

Disney's Shake It Up! Stars at Sugar Factory in Miracle Mile Shops

Photos by Carlos Larios/StarTraksPhoto

Disney stars Bella Thorne, Adam Irigoyen and Zendaya stopped by Sugar Factory at Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Thursday night.

The trio, who star in Disney's new original series, "Shake It Up!" picked up plenty of sweet treats such as the confection company's signature blinged-out Couture Pops, candy necklaces designed by Holly Madison and plenty of Sugar Factory's candy-inspired apparel.

After their shopping spree, Thorne, Irigoyen and Zendaya had a live webchat streaming to Justin.tv at the store. The talented tweens chatted with their fans, answered questions and even busted out an impromptu song-and-dance for the video camera.

All of Sugar Factory's products are available online at www.SugarFactory.com, in addition to Sugar Factory's two Las Vegas stores, located at The Mirage and Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Early next year, Sugar Factory will celebrate the grand opening of its flagship store located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip at Paris Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Celebrity Chefs

Las Vegas has transformed into a top culinary destination.

Once known for its all-you-can-eat buffets and bargain shrimp cocktails, Las Vegas has transformed itself into a top culinary destination. Within a decade, Las Vegas has redefined the culinary and wine experience by offering the most comprehensive collection of celebrity chefs and world-class restaurants, more Master Sommeliers than any other city in the world and more wine sold per capita than in any other destination.

Historically, major hotel-casinos featured "gourmet rooms" in order to cater to high rollers' tastes. Each restaurant created an ambience designed to transport diners to a world far away from the action of the casinos. However, by the late '90s, high-end eateries became the rage with their appeal extending beyond just high rollers. Las Vegas hotels recruited some of the top chefs in the world to open and run restaurants inside their properties. Today, Las Vegas has the most comprehensive collection of the world's top chefs and television icons. Continuing to satisfy Las Vegas visitors' appetites, they include - in alphabetical order:
